Privacy notice
Last updated: 27 August 2026
This notice explains what we do with personal information you give us through this website. It applies to the Portara website and to enquiries you send us through it.
Who is responsible for your information
Portara is a trading name of J-2 SOLUTIONS GROUP SP. Z O.O., ul. Diamentowa 14, 55-095 Kamień, Poland, company number 0001176514 (KRS, Poland). We are the data controller for the information described below.
If you have any question about this notice, or want to exercise any of the rights described further down, email privacy@portara.co.uk.
What we collect and why
| What | Why | Lawful basis |
|---|---|---|
| Name, email address, telephone number, postcode | To send you the estimate you asked for, and to pass your enquiry to an approved installer covering your area so they can arrange a survey | Consent, which you give by ticking the box on the form |
| The door type, sizes and finishes you selected, and the guide price shown | So the installer can quote accurately without asking you the same questions again | Consent |
| Pages visited, referring source, approximate location, device type | To understand which pages and adverts lead to enquiries, so we spend the advertising budget sensibly | Consent, given through the cookie banner |
| Correspondence you send us | To answer you and keep a record of what was agreed | Legitimate interests — running and evidencing our business |
Who we share it with
Your enquiry is passed to one approved installer — the one covering your postcode. It is not sold, and it is not circulated to several companies to bid against each other.
That installer becomes responsible for your information from the moment they receive it, and will have their own privacy notice. If no approved installer covers your area yet, we will tell you and we will not pass your details to anyone.
We also use service providers who process information on our behalf: our website host, our form-handling provider, our email provider and our analytics and advertising providers. They act on our instructions only.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not become orders: 12 months from your last contact with us, then deleted.
- Enquiries that become orders: for the duration of the 5-year product warranty, plus one year — because we need to be able to identify your door if you make a warranty claim.
- Accounting records: as required by law.
- Analytics data: up to 14 months.
Cookies
Essential cookies keep the website working and are always on. Analytics and advertising cookies are only set if you accept them on the banner. You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer of any page.
| Type | What it does | Set without consent? |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | Remembers your cookie choice so we stop asking | Yes — necessary |
| Analytics (Google Analytics) | Counts visits and shows which pages lead to enquiries | No |
| Advertising (Google Ads) | Measures which adverts produced an enquiry | No |
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to: give you a copy of the information we hold about you; correct it if it is wrong; delete it; restrict how we use it; or send it to another organisation. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time — that does not affect anything done before you withdrew it. Where we rely on legitimate interests, you can object.
Email privacy@portara.co.uk and we will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113. We would rather you came to us first so we can put it right.
Children
This website is intended for adults buying or specifying doors. We do not knowingly collect information about children.
